Our Company

AtYourSide was established in 2009. It’s a joint venture between East and West; a partnership between two business professionals from Shanghai and Zurich.

Jingwen An is a proud Shanghai native. She studied English and Japanese at SISU, one of China’s most prestigious language universities. She possesses rich experience as a tour guide, mandarin interpreter and teacher. An has a passion for literature, especially the works of Eileen Chang and has developed a broad palate for her hometown’s culinary delights. She enjoys traveling, although Shanghai would always remain as her favorite city.

Pius Walker was born in Switzerland and studied at the Zurich University of the Arts. He is owner and CEO of walker, a Zurich based advertising agency. In 2008 he was awarded Advertiser of the Year, helping his company to become one of the world’s most creative agencies. Before founding walker in 2001, Pius worked in the marketing and advertising worlds of London, Hamburg and Berlin. He is an extensive traveller, visiting various countries in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Pius is fluent in both English and German.

An and Pius founded AtYourSide with the aim of opening the door to the real Shanghai so that the western world can experience this often impenetrable city through a more personal, tailor-made service.
